{"id":122,"date":"2006-07-28T21:15:11","date_gmt":"2006-07-29T06:15:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bbryson.com\/bill\/?p=122"},"modified":"2006-07-28T21:15:11","modified_gmt":"2006-07-29T06:15:11","slug":"out-for-a-hike","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/bbryson.com\/bill\/2006\/07\/28\/out-for-a-hike\/","title":{"rendered":"Out for a hike&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With Katie off at work my parrents and I took off for a hike on the Gold Creek trail.\u00c2\u00a0 It goes out along the ocean making for a very beautiful hike.<\/p>\n<p>Here are my mom and dad on the trail.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Mom and Dad on Gold Creek Trail\" style=\"width: 283px;height: 212px\" src=\"http:\/\/bbryson.com\/bill\/files\/2006\/07\/mom_dad_gold_creek.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here is a little fireweed with the ocean and mountains in the background.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Fireweed on Gold Creek Trail 2\" style=\"width: 284px;height: 213px\" src=\"http:\/\/bbryson.com\/bill\/files\/2006\/07\/fireweed_gold_creek.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The mountains around Valdez are quite impressive.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Mountain\" style=\"width: 280px;height: 210px\" src=\"http:\/\/bbryson.com\/bill\/files\/2006\/07\/mountain_tree_vdz.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>One of the problems with hiking this trail is the abundence of stinging netles on the trail.\u00c2\u00a0 This is a terrible plant that when brushed up agains stings you like a bee.\u00c2\u00a0 The sting continues to throughout the day.\u00c2\u00a0 Here is a picture of one of those nasty plants.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Stinging Netels\" style=\"width: 175px;height: 236px\" src=\"http:\/\/bbryson.com\/bill\/files\/2006\/07\/stinging_netles.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We hiked out a ways until the trail became unkept and the stinging netles out numbered the other plants on the trial.\u00c2\u00a0 We headed back towards town and stopped off on the beach along the way to have a little snack of apples and cheese.\u00c2\u00a0 The dog was with, and was pretty thirsty.\u00c2\u00a0 We didn&#8217;t want him to drink the ocean water, so I constructed a makshift bowl out of some big leaves.\u00c2\u00a0 My mom posted some pictures of the bowl on <a target=\"_blank\" title=\"Moms Blog\" href=\"http:\/\/bbryson.com\/mom\/?p=98\">her blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With Katie off at work my parrents and I took off for a hike on the Gold Creek trail.\u00c2\u00a0 It goes out along the ocean making for a very beautiful hike.
