{"id":154,"date":"2006-10-22T10:34:24","date_gmt":"2006-10-22T19:34:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bbryson.com\/bill\/?p=154"},"modified":"2006-10-22T10:34:24","modified_gmt":"2006-10-22T19:34:24","slug":"the-wall-is-finished","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/bbryson.com\/bill\/2006\/10\/22\/the-wall-is-finished\/","title":{"rendered":"The Wall is FINISHED!!!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The last of the t-nuts came in the end of last week.\u00c2\u00a0 Yesterday, I borrowed a skill saw from Vance (the person we rent from).\u00c2\u00a0 With Erin&#8217;s help we got all the t-nuts hammered in.\u00c2\u00a0 WE built a frame for the other side wall.\u00c2\u00a0 Since we bought studs instead of regular 2&#215;4&#8217;s we had a little lip of the plywood hanging over the edge.\u00c2\u00a0 The skill saw made quick work of that.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Trimming up\" style=\"width: 222px;height: 300px\" src=\"http:\/\/bbryson.com\/bill\/files\/2006\/10\/trimming_up.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\">We finished up the second side wall, and started to assemble the whole thing.\u00c2\u00a0 Erin was kind enough to keep me in good supply of screws, and help move all the heavy and clumsy walls around.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Erin Screws\" style=\"width: 320px;height: 240px\" src=\"http:\/\/bbryson.com\/bill\/files\/2006\/10\/erin_screws.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\">After we had the back wall screwed into the side walls, it was starting to take shape. We found out that the screws we used to screw the plywood into the studs for support were sticking out the back just a little bit.\u00c2\u00a0 So when we would walk by we occasionally were scratched by them.\u00c2\u00a0 It wasn&#8217;t long before I was fixing that issue.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Pesky Screws\" style=\"width: 337px;height: 252px\" src=\"http:\/\/bbryson.com\/bill\/files\/2006\/10\/pesky_screws.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\">After we got that taken care of we went to work on the roof. It went up pretty quickly.\u00c2\u00a0 We were able to secure it into place which added even more stability to the whole structure.\u00c2\u00a0 Then it was on to the back slant.\u00c2\u00a0 We only used one sheet of plywood for the vertical part of the back wall.\u00c2\u00a0 From there we slanted the rest of the back wall to meet up with the one sheet we used for the roof.\u00c2\u00a0 It was a bit of a struggle, but Erin and I finally finished up construction.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\">It was then time to add the holds.\u00c2\u00a0 By this time it was around 10:30 P.M.\u00c2\u00a0 It had been a long day working in that little room.\u00c2\u00a0 Erin jumped right into bolting on the holds.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\">\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Erin Bolting\" style=\"width: 237px;height: 320px\" src=\"http:\/\/bbryson.com\/bill\/files\/2006\/10\/erin_bolting.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Me bolting slant\" style=\"width: 236px;height: 321px\" src=\"http:\/\/bbryson.com\/bill\/files\/2006\/10\/me_face_bolting_slant.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\">After we finished putting on the holds that Erin got me last year for my birthday, it was time for a little climbing.\u00c2\u00a0 Man has it been a long time.\u00c2\u00a0 I can&#8217;t believe how out of shape I am, and how great of a work out this is going to be.\u00c2\u00a0 I am really excited to be able to climb this year.
