On Friday, I finally figured out that he was right! We headed out into the Boundary Waters with a couple of friends for the night. It was a gorgeous night for hiking, and the trail was so packed we didn&#8217;t even need to use our snowshoes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/bbryson.com\/erin\/files\/2011\/03\/IMG_4268.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1905\" src=\"http:\/\/bbryson.com\/erin\/files\/2011\/03\/IMG_4268.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"282\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Jenny and I worked on gathering firewood while Bill and Olin set up the tent and stove. Soon we had a cozy warm shelter and were settled in for the night.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/bbryson.com\/erin\/files\/2011\/03\/IMG_4273.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1906\" src=\"http:\/\/bbryson.com\/erin\/files\/2011\/03\/IMG_4273-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/bbryson.com\/erin\/files\/2011\/03\/IMG_4271.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1910\" src=\"http:\/\/bbryson.com\/erin\/files\/2011\/03\/IMG_4271.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"299\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">We did a good job of relaxing, as no one was exceptionally motivated to go exploring in the morning&#8217;s sleet. We had a tasty breakfast and played a few games of Sequence. Eventually we got things packed up and decided to head back out. The weather calmed down, and we had a beautiful hike back out the hilly trail.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/bbryson.com\/erin\/files\/2011\/03\/IMG_4297.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1908\" src=\"http:\/\/bbryson.com\/erin\/files\/2011\/03\/IMG_4297-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/bbryson.com\/erin\/files\/2011\/03\/IMG_4298.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1909\" src=\"http:\/\/bbryson.com\/erin\/files\/2011\/03\/IMG_4298.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">I&#8217;m glad I gave winter camping a try&#8230; looking forward to taking another trip sometime.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bill has been trying to convince me that I&#8217;d enjoy winter camping for about 3 years now.
