Every year I get that annoying song from Billy Madison stuck in my head… “Back to school. Back to school…” Aside from trying to shake that nonsense away, things are going pretty smoothly. I’ve got the night before school jitters – one of those things that I’m sure will happen for the next 100 years that I’m a teacher. I’m anxious and nervous to have my kiddos in our classroom. I’ve got a million activities planned, but I’m convinced that I’ll run out of things to do. This first week is about learning the schedule and routine (myself as much as the kids), and I know I’ll be exhausted every single night. The weekend will arrive, though, in just 4 short days. Then I can spend a little time really wrapping my head around the school year, and soon it will feel like I’ve been doing this all my life. In a way, I kind of have. 🙂
Happy back to school season – whether you’re a teacher, student, parent, or just another Target shopper that’s been bombarded with the seasonal sales since July!
Happy back to school to you too! How liking working closer to home? It seems unreal that October is just around the corner!
