We're not going to be homeless this year!

Bill and I went hunting for a place to live on Wednesday, and we were determined not to leave town until we had our own space. The first place we saw was incredible. It was a beautiful yellow house right on the lake. We didn’t even see the inside, and I knew it would be perfect. Unfortunately, it was in Nisswa – which would tack on a 20 minute drive to work each day (and thus the extra expense of gas). It was also the highest rental price we found and did not include utilities. So, we didn’t rule it out, but we kept on looking.

We liked the location of all the places we saw, but in the end decided on an apartment just a couple of miles away from the school I’ll be teaching at. We’re excited about the two bedroom, two bathroom place we’ve rented – complete with balcony, fireplace, and for Bill – high speed internet. πŸ™‚ I’m really pleased with the place and anxious for visitors. πŸ™‚ We’ll begin moving in about a week.

In other events of the week… Tuesday brought my 27th birthday. It was a rather gloomy day, but perfect toΒ  go to lunch with the couple we LOVE to double date with…… Grandma and Grandpa!Β  It was a great birthday.

We went out for lunch to the Country Kitchen~ and, I even got a FREE birthday dinner, with a sundae included!

YUM.Β  It was a ton of fun, and extra special hanging out with gram and gramps.Β  I also enjoyed a number of calls, e-mails, and cards which made me feel like a princess. Thanks, everyone!

We’re looking forward to a pretty low-key weekend and then a trip to Door County, Wisconsin mid-week.

Finally… why are we suddenly paying $3.19 for a gallon of gas?

    Hey Erin! Happy Birthday!!!

I am glad you found a place to live…Whew, right! One less thing to think about!

I’m also a little perplexed about why gas jumped 30 cents for no apparent reason!

Please email me your new address so we can keep in touch when Baby Girl comes along πŸ™‚

    Love,

    Andrea

Hi there! Happy belated birthday! I thought about you on your special day, but I just didn’t get any spare minutes to myself that day. Evan has been readjusting since we returned home from up north. He’s not himself quite yet. All the travel and strange routines really throw him for a loop!

Congrats on finding a great place to live next year! We can’t wait to see it. πŸ™‚ Do you guys have cell phone numbers? We’re actually contemplating a day trip up to Camp Ripley either next weekend or the weekend after… if we head up that way and you’re around, maybe we’ll swing by. Let me know how to get in touch with you.

Amen for high speed Internet and questioning these outrageous gas prices! Time to go feed my boys.

    Love ya,

    Melissa

I’m so excited you found a place! I’ll expect to have a room ready for when I come to live with you guys right out of college. I’ve decided working is overrated… and who wants to go to Africa when I can live with you two :-). I love you guys, seems like you’re having a great summer! Take care!
