The past few days have been nothing short of wonderful! We finally got the “big” boat in and have been taking advantage of the lake. Here’s a picture of our first ride of the summer.
Bill and Jesse took a day trip up to Devil’s Cascade on Sunday, so April, Kerissa, Kaylee, and I made a day of playing on the Wii and creating some necklaces. It was so nice to have the girls out here, as it’s one of those things that makes summer feel like summer.
Work on the cabin has been at a stand still for the past month or so. We’ve just been finding so many other things to do with our time, and the place is comfortable as it is for now. It’s been great to be at the lake, right next to dad’s, and to have a little life in this place that’s sat empty for a year and a half. We are eager for more family to come and stay! Anyway, I haven’t really felt like posting a lot of pictures of the work we’ve done here, but I will share this picture of the back bedroom that Bill and I are staying in. The room has two walls painted tan and two painted “celery” – I really love it. The best part, though, are the blinds that totally don’t match the color scheme but do a superb job of keeping extra light out for late summer morning sleeping. 🙂
April initiated a fondue night for this evening, and I coaxed her to have it out at the lake. We had a TON of yummy treats – all dipable in either cheddar or blue cheese fondue or under the chocolate fountain. I think the world needs a little more fondue!
A boat ride and a jump in the lake wrapped up the evening; now Bill is topping things off with a little Mario Kart.
Tomorrow we’ll work on getting packed and head down to the cities to catch our early morning flight to Alaska on Thursday.
BTW – Congrats to YOU TWO who got job offers this week. 🙂
The adventure continues…

Have a fantastic 4th!
See you soon!!!
Looks like summer is treating you well! I love the celery walls!! Miss you so very much.
Love,
Stacie
