Vikings Visit

Today my students got a special treat when Adrian Peterson and several other Vikings staff visited Forestview. The presentation was part of the “What Moves You” program that the Vikings and American Heart Association put on to encourage children to get active.

Forestview is the only middle school in the state to have Adrian Peterson visit, so the kids felt that much more special.

I’m borrowing these pictures from The Brainerd Daily Dispatch. For those of you who didn’t get a chance to visit, it may give you an idea of the size of the school I’ve been lucky enough to work at this year.

Weekend

We had a VERY lazy weekend; it was great. We watched a bunch of movies and layed around. Today we did get ambitious enough to roller blade a bit… I managed to cross the highway – definitely not gracefully.

We decided to make pizza for dinner. Surprisingly, Bill requested chicken, pesto, feta, and artichoke hearts… so not Bill! It turned out very well, though. I decided to try my luck with a Thai Chicken pizza. It was pretty good, though it’ll use some tweaking to get to begin to compare with that of my favorite restaurant’s.

Here Comes the Bride

The countdown is on. April and Jesse’s wedding is just over a month away, but the celebration starts NOW! We had April’s shower Saturday morning, and the place was full despite the icy roads. Of course, we’d expect nothing less for such a sweet girl!

Here’s a picture of the bride-to-be… she’s always been the one who everyone knows to be good with kids. (I imagine that’s why it didn’t phase her to have 4 little ones tearing away at her gifts during the shower!)

Of course, Mom and Grandma Poderzay came to celebrate!

And, Dad stopped in on a break from work to warm up with a little coffee – he wasn’t allowed past the kitchen, though..

It was a very nice day for a very deserving gal!

You just need to buy yourself some bright, fun flowers… (or get your hubby to buy them for you)!

Sara's Art

Sara made Bill and I a fantastic lunch yesterday, and we got to see her recently completed painting. She calls it “Fiesta”, and it hangs perfectly between her Fiestaware cladden kitchen and bright red livingroom furniture. It’s as bold as Sara’s personality, and so I love it.
