Our House

Welcome to your virtual tour of the nicest place I’ve paid rent on yet. (Though our place in Mitchell was pretty sweet, right Ape?) 🙂

Anyway, in my efforts to share my rural Alaska experience with those of you who won’t make it up here, I’m posting more pictures. Can you believe I’m already posting again? (Many of you probably missed my last post… so read down!)

Our official home starts after you pass the arctic entry / climbing room. You first walk into the dinning area which connects on to the living room. Here’s the view that hits you when you walk in. The second picture shows the opposite view.

Directly right of the doorway is our kitchen. I absolutely love our counter space and lots of big cupboards!

We didn’t get a good picture of the bathroom, so imagine a shower/tub, sink/vanity, toilet, and stackable washer/dryer.

Beyond the bathroom are the two bedrooms. Our guest room has a nice closet which I’ve filled up with all of our STUFF. Besides that it’s got sweet bunk beds. The bottom is a double bed and the top a single. I like ’em!

Finally, here’s our bedroom. You’ll agree that the best part of it is the view of the beach (though the pictures don’t show it… the ocean is about 20 yards away). Our bedroom also has a nice closet for the insane amout of clothes we’ve aquired, and our dressers… They’re full of clothes too, but my favorite part of them is the pictures on top. 🙂

Thanks for taking the tour!

I’m starting to think that you actually love it up there and are going to be there forever….. I want you back home!!!! This is where you belong; in MINNESOTA!!!

Anyways- your house looks very nice. I was just thinking in the car on the way here that i should really try to get to alaska before you move HOME because I will probably never get there otherwise ( allthough Alaska isn’t on my life list– Hawaii is.)

It is snowing here– tons in Babbitt- It feels like Christmas. It’s gorgeous but the roads were a little iffy. OK- better get ready for my day.

    xoxo

Your house is beautiful…and it would be great to have you stay in Alaska forever…but…family calls…it is good to be around family!

But you have to promise that you will return…otherwise rick and i will be hunting you down in Minnesota…giggle:)

    hugs,

    tiff;)

What a cute place! I agree with April… it will be nice to have you back in Minnesota, but at least it looks like you’re comfortable up there this year. How’s your new schedule working out? I hope that you’re enjoying it! We just finished a lovely MEA (or whatever we call it these days) weekend with my mom and grandma coming down for a sewing weekend. We got a bunch of things made for the nursery, and it was just nice to have them around for a couple of days.

Anyway, keep up the great work in your blog–I’ll have to try to be better about mine one of these days!

    Love ya,

    Melissa

PS–I forgot! We had our ultrasound and everything is going well. We know what we’re having, but it’s a secret!

    Hi Erin and Bill!

Thanks for posting pictures of your home. It sure is fun to see where you live, being we are members of the “We’ll Never Get to Alaska” club 🙂 I love the view from your bedroom, and it does sound like you are making a home!

Thanks for checking out Alex’s caringbridge site and leaving such a nice note. We always look forward to reading about your goings on up there in AK and Jeff always asks, as I log onto your site “What’s Erin up to today?”

Shoot me an email with your current address!

    Love and Hugs –

    Andrea and Boys
