Friday Afternoon

Dad called Tuesday night with the sweet sound of water racing through the pipes and into the shower, kitchen sink, toilet, etc. He’s quite a handy guy to have around, and I’m happy they’ve got things up and running again back home. I’m sure they’re even more relieved!

I guess the weather has been beautiful in Minnesota… I’ve been envious. Lucky for us, though, we’ve had a few nice days of our own! It’s been in the 20’s the past couple of days, and yesterday even gave us a break from the wind. So, perhaps spring will arrive shortly after all! I’m still enjoying the light. Last night I noticed that the sky had not gone completely dark at 10:22. And the sun was a big glowing ball of pink this morning before 8:00. I absolutely love it.

Stacie’s been busy packing and selling to move South. I’m quite excited to hear about their next adventures (in less than 20 days!). At any rate, we’ve been trying to mix things up a bit the past few days. This morning we declared a school work / job application free zone and instead kicked of the weekend with a morning movie! What a fun way to start the day… and of course, the tasty extra creamy lattes, scrambled eggs, and warm caramel rolls didn’t hurt! It was great to indulge in the simplicity of The Holiday and yummy treats… kind of like a day at the spa – rural Alaskan style. 😉

I need to clean this afternoon… desperately. The problem is, I can make this place “surface clean” pretty quickly. So, it’s the floor mopping, toilet scrubbing, dusting, etc. that awaits. What type of cleaning do you dread the most? Me – I can’t stand cleaning the bathroom.

Happy Friday, All!

Clean…do we have to clean? Hmmm…let me see…I HATE vacuuming that stupid…crazy…ass…rug/carpet/thingy we have right now…it gets vacuumed, but never looks it! But usually I don’t mind vacuuming or for that mater I don’t mind cleaning…I love the feeling of it all being done and sitting on the couch just in awe…hee:) I would say the one thing I am really bad at doing is pulling out the fridge and stove to clean behind and under…so don’t look when you come to visit again!

Yippee….WATER…that is exciting for your dad!

    miss you like crazy.

    hugs,

    tiff:)

p.s.I am super jealous of your morning laziness with Stacie…BIG SMILES.

First, we just watched The Holiday as well, and I LOVED it! Josh, of course, fell asleep, but that’s OK. Hooray for girl time. 🙂

Cleaning… let’s see. Right now, my least favorite kind of cleaning are the really pastey, up the back, stuck to everything messy diapers that Evan seems so fond of creating. Or, there’s the “Oh, you just got me cleaned up and you’re about to put a new diaper under me, but it’s not there yet, so I’m going to poop all over the blanket.” messes… Ugh!

    Gotta run, baby is calling.

    Love,

    Melissa

I love that all done cleaning “ahhhh moment” You can almost hear “Handels Messiah” at that moment! Especially with two precious boys who love to get into things!

My least favorite, bar none, is the toilet – I don’t get men! Aim for goodness sake. Otherwise, I don’t mind cleaning. In fact, I’m a little obsessive about it!

    Hugs,

    Andrea

I love how you related our Movie Morning to a spa experience… Rural Alaskan Style!! Too fun!

What do I hate cleaning…. actually, I love to clean…. I just really do not like folding and putting away laundry 🙂

Thanks for helping me with the sale today!!

    Love.

    Stacie

  6. Minnesota Mom says:

What I hate to clean the most is the dishes. But I’ve learned to accept doing it as part of the responsibility of making sure no one in the house gets seriously sick 🙂 Actually, maybe it’s because of the way I grew up that cleaning really doesn’t bother me – remember who MY Mom is! I guess I’m okay with cleaning – but I’ll never be the neatnik she (Grandma) is – I’ve learned that life is too short to work away the hours.

Have an incredible week. Say hi to Bill from us.

    Love and miss you lots,

    Mom
