Night Caps

My favorite times are the moments I spend laughing with my friends and family. Happily, I got such an opportunity this past weekend. Tiff met me in Anchorage, and we got the chance to catch up on the past month, talk about plans for the near future, and laugh!

We enjoyed a tasty dinner at my favorite Anchorage restaraunt, The Glacier Brewhouse, before heading back to the Captain Cook for more visiting and a good night’s sleep. Rick had to fly out for work, so he and the boys drove into town the next morning. I got a chance to catch up with Keegan and Rohnan over breakfast… they seemed older to me! I guess that’s part of the gaps in time between visits. Sometimes I think I’ll blink and they’ll be adults.

Bill and I have enjoyed several trips to the Holt’s new home, and prior to their move many nights of fun at their place in Unalakleet. These are the type of folks that make you feel like you’ve known them forever – and like you’re part of the family. (I’ve even dared to refer to their futon as MY bed… and I think it’s catching on.) 🙂

We continue to feel blessed by our friendships – all around the country!

    What a fun picture!

My sister had her baby. Mya Jade was born on Monday, April 30; 7 pounds, 11 ounces and 20 inches long. She looks just like her big sister did! We’re excited to meet her when we head up north for Mother’s Day weekend.

Not much else is happening here. Josh’s sister is home from Africa with her family for a couple months, and they will be staying with us tomorrow night. I’ll try to get some good photos as we don’t get to see our African family all that often. Evan is getting over his cold, but mom is feeling the ache of a few pretty sleepless nights. Thankfully, Josh has finished up work on the graduate course he was taking, so now I have more hands and help in the evening. Now, if I could just get myself one of those contraptions from “Meet the Fockers…” I am SO looking forward to the day I can sleep until daylight!

Anyway, I just thought I’d check in, and sure enough, you’ve been having fun! Good for you!

    Love ya,

    Melissa

As I shared with Tiff, I am loving the hats! It looks like you girls had a super-duper time.

    Loves,
