This Virtual Life

Due to my lack of interesting recent photos, I’ve decided to post one of my favorites. I feel like this picture sums me up most of the time (trying not to take life too seriously). It also represents the early Sunday morning deep thinking I’ve been up to

silly face

The truth is, I woke up in the middle of the night feeling quite sick. Bill and I went to a movie last night, and I’m afraid I ate too much popcorn. And so, I found myself wide awake with a bellyache. (I’m about to begin teaching poetry… how do you think it’s going to go?) 🙂

ANYWAY – I found myself thinking about school work, which inevitably brought me out to my computer. Now, poor Bill has to defend his relationship with technology to me on a near daily basis – so, I found myself amused by the need to open up my MacBook at 5:00 AM!

No doubt I went to check some of my friends’ and family members’ blogs. And not long after I was wondering how I got wrapped up in this virtual life. Well, the how, I suppose, is obvious. So more appropriately I began to ask myself if it’s gone too far..

    Seriously? 5 am? Oh boy….

I DO love that picture of you. You have so many sweet, funny pictures of you as a little girl. Jesse and I were just saying how in EVERY photo, you have a silly face on. Too cute– and SO you….

    I’ll call in a bit.

    love you

I have felt the same way — . There are times I have thought of just stopping completely, but then I know I’d miss the connections I have made and renewed. Sadly, it is so easy to be out of touch with people……YET, blogging makes it even easier to miss the quality connections.

Good luck with your thoughts about this. I hope you have a good week, Erin!

giggle…giggle…giggle…giggle…I LOVE…love…LOVE this picture of you and remember laughing hysterically over it when you were sleeping on your futon at the Yurt!

as for the virtual world…ah…i have been having that same dilemma…in fact i have been trying to set my computer down and only look at it during certain parts of the day…but it is so difficult as it is the one place i have connections to the outside world. i guess i should just not be so obsessed by it, huh?

too much popcorn…is there such a thing? hope you are feeling betters.

    hugs!

Well you know my thoughts on the subject. 🙂 Tech time = Fun time. Anyway. I hope you get a nap in this afternoon.

    Love you

I often find myself at the computer in the middle of the night – when I can’t sleep (not in the middle of the night when awaken by babies! ) but I don’t think it means I’ve gone too far. It’s just an alternative to TV! I guess I could do some scrapbooks at 4:00am, but…

Actually, while I do miss the days of writing/receiving a letter, I am grateful for the blogs/websites of my friends and family who are all very busy. Taking a minute to click over or put up a quick post is worth it to me – even if it does mean we’ve gone to far 🙂

    Hugs, Erin!

    Ersy,

How well I remember that picture! You always took those “cutsie” kind of pictures when you were little. I knew you had personality way back when…..

Hope you’re feeling better and that you and Bill have a great week!

    Love you lots and lots,

    Mom

    ps~how’s the Wii?

I love that picture too. It does capture your personality. Are you coming up this weekend? Just curious. Love you…..
