Almost Tuesday?

It was another nice weekend in Cook. April and I drove to Duluth on Saturday morning to get my bridesmaid dress squared away. Then we stopped and visited with Gram and Gramp (or G2 – read G squared) as we refer to them all too often! 🙂 It was a pretty good visit. We started talking about the fact that this Wednesday is their 65th anniversary. They are so cute; at the mention of their anniversary their eyes lit up. They are still so very much in love.

We got home Saturday afternoon, and Lo came out. I finally convinced the girls to come and watch The Holiday with me… and then I fell asleep. I guess I just needed a nap. Really, that’s kind of how I was feeling all weekend – I just wanted to snuggle into my bed and let the rest of the world go about the rush of it all. I did make some eclairs after spending the past couple of weeks thinking about them. They were pretty good – and now it’s out of my system!

I think that taking a couple of days to just be lazy payed off today. I was so refreshed and ready for work. What a wonderful feeling – not one I often find on a Monday! Still, the day went well. We’re in the midst of a figurative language and poetry unit. (Yes, me and poetry…) Today we wrote haikus and painted watercolors to go along with them. Some of the kids are true artists… and those that are not make me feel wonderful about the examples I share. Ah, perspective!

Tonight I’ve been busy trying to clean the apartment a bit. I’ve neglected the dusting, the mopping, the toilet scrubbing for too long. I’m not anxious to get back to it, but I suppose it’s about that time.Happy Monday, All.

We had a wonderfully lazy weekend! I actually got a nap, albeit short, in…

I’m teaching poetry right now, too! It’s hard for me to remember, sometimes, that my students are all that poetic and analytical. They’re much better at writing VERY concrete poems. Every now and then, though, I come across a real gem!

Glad to hear you had a nice weekend! I can’t wait until the musical is over (even though it’s going quite well) so that I can have a restful weekend. Right now I’m going, going, going all the time.

Enjoy the rest of your week! 🙂
