Break Begins!

Bill and I decided on a quick get-a-way to the North Shore on the first days of our long weekend. We stayed at a quaint little spot right on the lake. Got in some nice little hikes. Ate a fancy dinner. Relaxed. We had gorgeous weather – it was perfect.

This afternoon we drove back through Tower and stopped to visit with Grandpa P. Mom, April, and Sawyer were there – that’s always fun. I decided to hop in Ape’s car and head to Virginia while Bill headed back to Cook to finish up some homework. After a quick run through Target we headed back to hang out at Ape and Jesse’s for a while. Luckily we were there long enough to see my precious Kate. When we finally made it home, Dad had tasty fajitas waiting for us. (There was also the wonderful surprise of an ice-free bay!)

Bill’s still hard at work on his assignments, but he took a break so we could jump in the canoe to rescue the neighbor’s dock. Here’s a pic of my guy paddling their dock back over to the point. It was all I could do to keep the canoe heading in the right direction – there’s a bit of wind out there.

Sounds like a great little get-away! I can’t believe you two had to go rescue your neighbors dock! Wow. It’s funny to see Bill directing the dock from the middle of the lake and paddling it back to it’s place… and impressive that you took over the canoe, wind and all. You two amaze me!
