I received these from one of my students for Valentine’s Day. Over a week later, they are still quite beautiful.
Sleep Over
Bill, Jesse and my dad are all camping. Rather than sit out at the lake by myself all weekend, I’ve invited myself to stay at April’s.
AM Light
Now is the time of year that I really start to notice our light coming back. Though rolling myself out of bed is the hardest part of the day for me, walking into the living room and seeing the sky waking up over the trees is one of my favorites!

Curling Night
Bill’s team lost to my dad’s team at the curling league tonight. What this means for me is that I spent the evening at the lake by myself. It was a nice, quiet, couple of hours here – and it’s always nice to have them home.
Blog Challenge
I’ve challenged Bill to blog every day this week. Since he’s the guy who insisted I have a blog in the first place, I like to see him update his. I thought I’d take the same challenge – the rules are simple… post a picture of our lives each day. There can be writing or not. So –
I took this picture yesterday morning when I was going to see if Bill was ready to get up. The answer was no – even after being gently pulled from sleep by the flash of a camera. 😉
Another Fast Week
Bill and I were both lucky enough to attend an Apple “Reaching all Learners” workshop this week. It’s always nice to spend a day thinking about what kinds of things we could be doing differntly… better. It really broke the week up in a good way.
Now we’re on to the weekend. Last night we watched the opening ceremonies … well, Bill did. It wasn’t long before I was dragging myself up to bed. I’m always wiped out on Friday nights.
Today we’re heading down to the cities. We’re going to catch up with April, Jesse, and Sawyer – they’re heading to a Wild game tomorrow. And we’re going to see my cousins Zac and Matt and their families. Besides that we’re just going to bum around… maybe head to REI, sauna at the hotel, etc.
It’s really beautiful out right now.Chilly, but beautiful.
I’ll leave you with a picture of the icicle that Bill has been sort of infatuated with this winter.
February Is Here
I’m planning to really enjoy February. I really have no idea how I’m going to accomplish that, but it’s on my to-do list.
I hear old Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow yesterday. My dad had a good point – we can pretty much count on at least 6 weeks of winter whether the groundhog sees his shadow or not. So, I’m trying to wrap my mind around that – because honestly, I’m ready to be back out in the boat.
Also, I can’t wait to play with my favorite babies this summer. They’re going to be so much fun! Katsie is already showing off as a “water baby”… poor Sawyer caught the nasty cold I’ve had for a week. It’s been really nice to have them both around this past week. Well – and always. But they have been an especially bright spot in a dreary week.
