Just A Nice Day

I got to school today and greeted a student in the hallway. I proceeded to ask this child if he’d completed his homework, to which he replied, “Uh, yeah.” I followed with, “All of it?”. His answer, “Well, not all of it.” It made me smile.

During my prep this afternoon I went to check the stats on my students’ performance on an online tutoring program we use. One of my kids found the messaging portion of the system and sent me a message. It read, “I just want to tell you I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!” My kids are funny, and they often make my day with the smallest gesture.

So, it was a good day. It’s been a good week, really. The time is moving quickly, and despite winter’s fight to stay around, I’ve got spring on my mind.

I headed home to dinner prepared by the neighbor guy. April and Jesse headed out and Uncle Rick and Auntie Sue joined us which was a wonderful surprise. Dad had everything we needed for supper, so I decided to throw a little dessert together. Admittedly, living at Gram’s house carries a bit of pressure to maintain some decent baked goods. I think tonight’s hot fudge pudding cake measured up. So a good day was followed by a good dinner with family… and chocolate dessert.

And to top THAT off, ALL of tonights dishes are tucked away in the dishwasher, waiting for the delayed cycle to begin and to greet me all clean and sparkly in the morning. I have never had such affection for a home appliance. 🙂

The outlook continues to be bright – tomorrow’s Friday, March begins on Sunday, and I’m hopefull that GREEN is not too far away.
