The Epic Journy

We left Unalakleet Wednesday at 5:00. The little metro, which is the smaller of the two types of planes that fly into Unalakleet was completely full. The Unalakleet basketball teams are competing in the state tournament in Anchorage this weekend.

Once we arrived in Anchorage we grabbed a rental car and ran over to Walmart. I ran out of contacts about a month ago, and have been seeing the world through glasses. Having enough of that fun, and wanting to lose the frames while in Mexico, I ordered up some new ones at the Walmart vision center. We also picked up a couple beach towels and some weird headphones for Erin to use while she runs.

After our little shopping spree, 😉 we drove over to Sulivans in hopes of some tasty lobster bisc. Unfortunately they were all out. We should have called ahead to make sure they had it before going over. We stayed anyway, and had dinner.

After dinner we went back out to the Anchorage airport to join the rest of the anxious travelers through one of TSA’s finest security checkpoints. 🙂 We tried taking a little nap before our flight, and were airborne a little after midnight.

We flew all night, and landed here in LA around 6:45 in the morning (Cali time). We grabbed a little snack in the Alaska Airlines Boardroom, and I took a little bit of a nap. I tried to sleep on the plane, but it was very restful. Its nice that we got upgraded to first class for the next leg of our trip into Mazatlan. Hopefully it will make the trip a little more comfortable.

I’ll blog again later tonight with pictures from my first time in Mexico. Erin and I are going to have a blast relaxing on the warm sandy beaches.
